Screw conveyor or vacuum conveyor for plastic powder conveying?

Common processes in the plastics industry include conveying, and different manufacturers use different conveying equipment. Some are screw conveyors, and some use vacuum feeders, but what is the difference between the two?

The screw conveyor relies on the screw blade to push the material from the inlet to the outlet. The rotation direction of the screw blade is inconsistent with that of the motor. Therefore, it can push the material forward.  The spiral adopts round tube welding with no weld in the middle. Relatively speaking, it can block the flying of some powder materials during the conveying process. But for very fine powder, such as 150 mesh, 200 mesh, or even 300 mesh fine powder, if we use the screw conveyor in the conveying process, the powder will fly.

Vacuum conveyor workflow

The Eversun vacuum conveyor relies on the Roots blower to pump the material tank into a vacuum state. Because the pressure difference inside and outside the material tank makes the material enter the material tank through the inlet hose. And the vacuum material tank has a dust-proof filter element. After the target powder enters the filter element, the clogging of the filter element will not cause the powder to fly out. Powdered materials will adsorb to the filter element. When opening the flapper valve of the vacuum conveyor inlet, the vacuum state in the tank disappears and the material falls into the filter due to gravity. In the silo, at the same time, the upper blowback system starts to work and blows out the fine powder hidden in the filter and enters the silo. In this way, all the powder materials are input into other containers during the conveying process.

Therefore, the conveying of the vacuum conveyor is more environmentally friendly in comparison. Customers, especially new factories, are more willing to choose environmentally friendly products when choosing conveying equipment, which can solve the conveying problem in one step and use it for a longer time.
